The future is bright for the Age of Empires series

Overnight, Microsoft held a live stream for Ages of Empires, the expectation was that the Definitive Edition of the original title would be the focus, but it turns out they were not going to stop there. In addition to Age of Empires II and Age of Empires III getting Definitive Editions, they surprised everyone with the announcement of Age of Empires IV, the announcement trailer for that is at the bottom, but you can watch the entire livestream below.

The first bit of news is that the Age of Empires Definitive Edition will launch later this year on October 19, 2017. Built as an homage to PC gamers everywhere, Age of Empires: Definitive Edition will show the classic at its best, exclusively for Windows 10 and available for purchase from the Windows Store.

Of course, the announcement of Definitive Editions for both 2 and 3 are welcome as well, however outside of the announcement, we have no other details.

That seems to be the trend, because we have no other details for Age of Empires 4 as well, Relic Entertainment, creatores of the Dawn of War series of RTS games has been announced as the developer, with the following being the entire statement.
