Disney Interactive have released details about what is coming in the next few months for Disney Infinity 3.0, including details on the new Marvel Battlegrounds playset that is coming later this month and new characters also coming to 3.0

Kicking things off this week are the release of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, the protagonists from the all new Disney animation movie, Zootopia. The characters of Nick and Judy will only be compatible within the Toy Box, but that won't stop them from having skills that players will want to use.

Each character has skills and moves that will make them favourites in no time, I am sure. Alongside the release of the characters is also a new Power Disc collection that will let fans theme their toybox to Zootopia, as well as provide costumes for Nick and Judy.

Those looking for figures not currently listed in the game will be happy to announce that Disney finally confirmed Ant-Man, Black Panter and Vision are coming to 3.0, with Ant-Man being teased since San Diego Comic Con last year, its nice to see confirmation. While these were the only characters announced for Marvel Battlegrounds today, they did tease that more would be coming.

Alongside the announcement of these figures, was confirmation of Power Discs launching with the Marvel Battlegrounds playset, the contents of which are:

  • Cosmic Cube Blast – Unleash a powerful energy blast on nearby foe.
  • Darkhawk’s Blast – Blast obstacles with a powerful energy beam
  • Nova Corps Strike – Call upon the Nova Corps to unleash a tactical strike from above
  • Ghost Rider’s Motorcycle – Take a ride on the wild side with Ghost Rider’s flaming motorcycle

Perhaps one of the most exciting announcements from the amount of information released today was the confirmation that Black Suit Spider-Man will be released as a standalone figure.
We also want to point out that Black Suit Spider-Man will be released as an individual character. Originally only available with the PlayStation Vita® version of Disney Infinity 2.0, we heard your requests to have him released as a stand-alone figure, and we have done just that so fans will be able to use him on their favorite platform of choice.

But of course, another character rumored to be coming out was Baloo, the classic bear from the animated movie, The Jungle Book. The team were inspired by the upcoming live action retelling of this classic, that they went back and using inspiration from the original release, crafted an all new figure, based on everyone's favourite most laid back bear.

So counting Baloo, four new characters were confirmed today, with a tease at the end about the next episode of Disney Infinity Next taking a look at some favourite fish and a peak through the looking glass. It was also confirmed that there will not be a Disney Infinity 4.0 this year and that for the foreseeable future, all Disney Infinity content released in stores will in fact work with the 3.0 starter pack.
