5 May 2014, Sydney, AUSTRALIA: The Nokia Lumia 2520 will arrive in Australia this week introducing the  first ever Nokia Lumia tablet to the market – offering users a device with a powerful processor, class leading screen, exclusive apps and Windows RT 8.1 preloaded and the enhanced typing experience of a full-sized keyboard. The slimline 4G-enabled Lumia tablet, featuring 32GB of internal memory and supporting up to 64GB of expandable memory via MicroSD card, will be available exclusively with Telstra online from Tuesday 6th May, and in stores nationally from 13th May.

Featuring both 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity and with the full Microsoft Office suite preinstalled, the Lumia 2520 is designed to keep customers productive while on the move. Steve Lewis, General Manager of Microsoft Devices in Australia and New Zealand said: “There’s growing demand for tablets that can perform as well in the office as they can on the sofa. The Lumia 2520 has the design, features, speed and apps that will make it invaluable for anyone who wants to work easy and play hard, without having to carry multiple devices around.”

Telstra’s Director of Device Management Andrew Volard said the launch of the Nokia Lumia 2520 is a great choice for Telstra customers who want the productivity benefits of a Windows PC and the flexibility of a tablet. “We are seeing a growing demand from our customers for connected tablets, specifically devices that can be used for both work and play,” he said. “The Nokia Lumia 2520 combines great design and the popular Windows OS with the great connectivity of the Telstra Mobile Network, which has four times the 4G coverage area of any other Australian mobile network.”

“A bit under half of Australian small businesses, have most of their customers located more than 20 kilometres away. There’s huge demand to be able to work more flexibly on the go and at customer premises. With the Lumia 2520 connected to 4G, owners can work with ease and stay on top of emails as well as edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.”

The Nokia Lumia 2520 sports a vivid 10.1-inch HD display, which provides the best outdoor and indoor readability of any tablet. Concerns about draining battery power are a thing of the past with the Lumia 2520 providing up to 11 hours of battery life during video playback and supporting fast-charging; powering up to 80 per cent in just one hour. It also pairs with the Nokia Power Keyboard, a stylish and protective wraparound cover which doubles as a fully functional keypad with two USB ports, a gesture trackpad – and adds up to five extra hours of battery life.

Building on the rich mobility heritage of the Nokia Lumia range, the Lumia 2520 combines a 6.7MP camera, and for the first time, ZEISS optics appear on a tablet alongside proprietary Nokia imaging algorithms, letting people take beautiful pictures – even in low light.

The Lumia 2520 gives customers the full Microsoft Office and Outlook experiences they get on their PC, making it easy to finish off pending emails no matter where they are. Customers can also view and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on the move, while keeping the original formatting, thanks to free, out-of-the-box Microsoft Office. Business customers can also benefit from a range of productivity apps available including Drawboard PDF for easy PDF editing and the Accountright app that integrates directly into MYOB online.

Built to balance work and play perfectly, the Lumia 2520 comes with a number of unique software experiences that are exclusive to the Lumia family. With industry leading HERE Maps, the Nokia Lumia 2520 is the only tablet with true offline map support for a fast and reliable maps experience. Nokia Storyteller, a Nokia developed application introduces a new way to relive images and videos as a story on a map, while Nokia Video Director offers the ability to edit and get even more creative with videos shot on the Lumia 2520. The Lumia Share application allows Lumia smartphones to interact with the Lumia 2520 and view images in Storyteller, connecting via NFC. The tablet also includes Nokia Music with MixRadio preinstalled, providing hundreds of specially-curated playlists that can be streamed and downloaded for free.
“The Lumia 2520 will prove the perfect companion for anyone with an Xbox or Windows Phone device with fluid integration between devices and one consistent screen, connected by the cloud, for everything in their life,” Mr Lewis added.
