Xbox is ending support for their Xbox 360 titles, included within Games with Gold after the September release

Xbox have announced that starting with the October release of the Games with Gold line-up, whatever they happen to be, Xbox 360 games will no longer be included.

PlayStation did the same thing a while back, dropping PlayStation 3 games and focusing, at least then, on PlayStation 4. Check out the full statement that Xbox sent out to their subscribers, informing them of the change.

From 1 October 2022, the monthly games provided to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members via Games with Gold will no longer include Xbox 360 titles.

We have reached the limit of our ability to bring Xbox 360 games to the catalogue; however, Games with Gold will continue to include exciting Xbox One titles and exclusive savings each month.

This will not impact any Xbox 360 games that you downloaded before October 2022. Any Xbox 360 titles that you redeem via Games with Gold before that time are yours to keep on your Xbox account, regardless of whether you continue your subscription.

While it is sad to see that older games will no longer be included, it does make sense and is honestly something that I thought would have happened a while ago, so it was great to see them keeping it going.

The fact that all Xbox 360 games redeemed can be and played, even without an ongoing membership is nice and of course, you will still be able to buy games going forward, they just won’t be adding more in for free.

Hopefully with them removing two titles from the line up, they either add more Xbox One games or perhaps some Xbox Series X|S games, but we will need to wait a few more months to find out.
