Xbox have revealed the future of their brand

As promised a special, though very short edition of the Xbox Podcast was released where Phil Spencer, Matt Booty and Sarah Bond delivered an update on the future of Xbox, so what are the highlights.

First

Xbox are NOT going multiplatform, titles like Starfield and Indiana Jones are Xbox and PC exclusive and are remaining so.

Second

Four games are heading to other platforms. The titles were not announced, however we got some details. Two of the four are community driven games, which narrows things down a whole lot and the other two are considered smaller games. The big thing with all four games, and likely any others that may follow, they have been on Xbox for at least a year, with the community games pretty much tapped out on Xbox and in order to grow, they need more players.

The rumours for the games are Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment as the smaller games, with Sea of Thieves and Grounded as the community titles, but there could be countless others in both groups, so we just need to wait and see.

Three

Activision-Blizzard titles will start arriving onto Game Pass, with Diablo IV coming on March 28th as the first game.

Fourth

Game Pass will remain on its existing platforms. That means Xbox consoles, PC and via Cloud. There are no plans to bring Game Pass to any other console.

Fifth

Xbox hardware is not going anywhere, with new console and controller offerings coming this year alone, though there were no details on the hardware to come.

So there we go, Xbox are not going multiplatform, nor are they going to release everything they own everywhere else. It appears that they are going to take a measured approach with things, on a game by game basis.
