Wild Blue Skies drops a new gameplay trailer as the name change takes effect

Chuhai Labs revealed Wild Blue a while ago, but now the game has a new name, Wild Blue Skies, I know such a departure. But in addition to the new name, they have also released a good look at the gameplay that is coming, showing that it wears its inspiration proudly.
In the game players get to take flight as Bowie Stray, and lead the squad the Blue Bombers. As you fly across the various stages, Bowie will trade quips with the rest of the squad, whilst taking down all enemies who fly near his crosshairs.
If all this is feeling very Star Fox then there is a good reason for that, the studio was founded by the lead programmer on the game Giles Goddard, who also lead development on 1080 Snowboarding. The studio took a new crack at snow boarding in VR already, so it feels right to take on Star Fox for the modern day.
That means for fans of old-school on-rails shooters, Wild Blue Skies puts you in the pilot’s seat of a modernized take on the genre, building on everything you know and love about it. Soar high and feel the thrill with an incredible lineup of features that’ll make sure you never want to leave the cockpit.
The game is coming to PC and Xbox in 2026, but one would hope a Nintendo release, but only time will tell.
