Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 continues the fight with Year 2

Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have announced that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will get another year of content, beginning this September 4. As part of the reveal of the next 12 months, the team have also released a roadmap, so fans can see when selected content is coming.

Space Marine 2’s Year 2 content follows in the footsteps of Year 1 with 6 new planned patches packed with free gameplay additions available to all players throughout 2025 and 2026. From new PvE and PvP game modes to new enemies and a new playable class, defenders of Humanity are in for a treat:

  • 4 new Operations & a new Siege map

  • 2 new Eternal War arenas

  • New Stratagems (PvE) and Helbrute Onslaught (PvP) game modes

  • New playable class: The Techmarine

  • New weapons and free unlockable weapon variants for existing weapons

  • New enemies and bosses

  • New Progression mechanics

You can see the current plans in the infographic below, which only goes out until Q2 next year, which means end of June, so there is still a bit to be revealed. The full patch notes for update 10, which launches next week, can be found here, and details things like the new mode Helbrute Onslaught.

The game is out now for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. We reviewed the game last year and enjoyed it, but noted it had room to grow and it has certainly done that.
