Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream reveals new details and the release date

As promised, Nintendo hosted a Direct for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, which was dated to release for Nintendo Switch on April 16. There were a lot of details covered in the Direct, so let's get to it.
In Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, create Mii characters of family, friends or anyone you imagine and place them on a lively island. Customise their looks, personalities, quirks and homes, then watch their odd and funny actions. Prompt them to share thoughts, help with problems, build friendships and more. Time moves like real life, so check in daily as they live their island lives.
Creating Mii characters has always been simple and that same approach can be used here, but if you are someone who does not do well with character creation, there is a Get Help feature, which will ask you a bunch of question. Depending on your answers the Mii it creates for you will be quite a bit different. For those seeking to create their own without any assistance, there are more options here than ever before, as there are new additions to the Mii creation process, for the first time in a while. You can create even more imaginative looking Miis with robust face paint options, too. After that, you can customize their name, height, body type, gender, voice and aspects of their personality, including how quirky they are, their energy levels and more.
After you create Miis, help them meet. Place Miis near each other and they’ll start conversations—about favourite foods, monster trucks, and more. Once they know each other, they’ll interact on their own. You can house up to eight Miis together as roommates; living together changes their reactions and can spark surprising drama.
Help Miis find favourite foods at Fresh Kingdom; buy everyday and wild clothes at Where & Wear; redo rooms at T&C Reno (including supermarket or library-themed rooms); shop time-based deals at the Marketplace; get island décor at Quik Build; watch MNN news for island updates; and take fun photos at Foto-Tomo.
It won’t just be about shopping as you can also create a wide range of elements at the artsy workshop known as Palette House Workshop, in order to further enliven island life! Design pets for Mii characters, draft up custom drinks, sketch a resident’s favourite TV show, decorate a special item of clothing, draw the exterior of a house and ground tiles, and go wild by creating original items for your island, too. You can even draw pets for them, letting them have the puppy of their dreams, or nightmares.
Customisation extends beyond your home, as you can also change up the islands aesthetic. You can do this by changing out trees, plants and even benches. Want more to offer your Miis, then place down some vending machines or a bouncy playground and more, the choices are up to you. You won’t be limited to working with small places either, if you need more space, just move a shop to somewhere else, you have the control to decide where everything goes.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream will release for Nintendo Switch on April 16. If you want to check out the full Direct for it, you can do that below the screens.
