Tom Clancy's The Division: Heartland is a new free-to-play game coming soon

Ubisoft have announced that Tom Clancy’s The Division is expanding in big ways over the next few years, we already knew about the movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain, but now we know there are more games coming, including a free to play title.

That game is Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland and will be a brand-new free-to-play game set in the universe of The Division. There are not a lot of details known about the game right now, except that development is being led by Red Storm Entertainment, the studio that started making the Rainbow Six games, before Ubisoft got involved and who have also worked on The Division and The Division 2.

The Division Heartland will be a stand-alone experience available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and cloud platforms in 2021-22.

As you can see from the roadmap above, a mobile game is also in development, though it is not yet known which studio, either internally or externally is leading the way. Sadly there are no other details on it, but more are expected later, maybe at Ubisoft Forward at E3 2021.

While Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment is working on that Star Wars game, they are also working on more new content for The Division 2, which is set to release later in 2021. All we know for this is that it will include an entirely new game mode and new methods for levelling agents up with an emphasis on increasing build variety and viability.
