Time for a system reboot as System Shock comes to consoles this May

Prime Matter and developer Nightdive Studios have announced that the remake of System Shock, which launched last year on PC, will arrive on Xbox and PlayStation platforms this May 21st. In celebration of the news, a brand new trailer has been released, check it out below.

With this release, this will mark the series debut on consoles, as its been PC only since its original release back in 1994. While the plot of the game is largely the same, it has been refined quite a bit, but this is not a simple PC to console port.

The System Shock remake combines the gameplay of the original title with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface and all-new sounds and music. The console release features numerous improvements and the addition of a revised ending and optional female hacker protagonist.

For those PC players who feel like they want a new ending as well, it will also arrive there.

The game is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on May 21st.
