The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is expanding Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet later this year

Nintendo and Game Freak have revealed the expansions for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, which were both completely expected. Called The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, the content will come in two parts with the first coming in Spring of this year and part two, sometime later. Check out the reveal trailer for it below.

While there is no release date for the expansion yet, you can order it now. Just be aware that it is version specific, you can not order the Scarlet version of the DLC if you own the Violet base game. If you want to order the Scarlet Expansion you can do so here and for those that need the Violet expansion that can be found here.

Depending on which one you get, you will get access to some new outfits before the main content arrives later this year, on the left below is the Scarlet outfits and the right is the Violet ones.

The first part of the expansion is called The Teal Mask and will have players chosen to take part in a school trip that is held each year in collaboration with another school. They’ll be taken to the land of Kitakami, where a great mountain towers over the land and the people live at its base. It is a place of tranquil natural expanses, featuring rice paddies and apple orchards. The trip seems to coincide with a festival regularly held in the village in Kitakami during this season, so the village is bustling with various street vendors and stalls. Players will meet new friends and Pokémon as they unravel the mysteries behind the folktales that have been passed down in this land.

In Part 2: The Indigo Disk, players will be traveling to Blueberry Academy, a sister school of their own academy, as exchange students. While this tale is split into two parts, they link together to tell a connected story.

As is always the case with these reveals, we have new art for some of the new characters, Pokémon and regional variants.
