The first trailer for Prey is here, before it hits Disney+ this August

Disney has released the first proper trailer for Prey, an all-new movie set within the world of Predator, just a few hundred years before the others, check it out.

In addition to the trailer, the movie will also release onto Disney+ under the Star banner on August 5th.

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, β€œPrey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

Interestingly, the filmmakers decided to commit to creating a film that provides an accurate portrayal of the Comanche, with the aim of bringing a level of authenticity that rings true to its Indigenous peoples. As a result, the film features a Native Comanche producer, Jhane Myers, and a cast comprised almost entirely of Native and First Nation’s talent, including Amber Midthunder (β€œThe Ice Road,” β€œRoswell, New Mexico”), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (β€œSooyii”), Michelle Thrush (β€œThe Journey Home”) and Julian Black Antelope (β€œTribal”). The movie also stars Dane DiLiegro (β€œAmerican Horror Stories”) as the Predator.
