The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition has landed on Switch 2

In a move that is more surprising that it took this long, but Bethesda have announced that The Elder Scrolls V: Skryim has landed on Nintendo Switch 2 and done so with its Anniversary Edition. Anyone who owns the game on Switch can upgrade for a minimal fee and if you already own the Anniversary Edition on Switch, you get the Switch 2 edition for free. Check out the launch trailer for the release below.
Access to the game is done three ways, they are as follows:
New to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim- the game can be bought for $89.95
Own The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Upgrade for $30
Own The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition - Download the Switch 2 version for free
The big thing for this release is of course the graphical and performance improvements over the Switch release, Bethesda have called out the following:
Enhanced resolution and DLSS anti-aliasing
Improved load times
Optimized performance
Mouse control support
Motion controls
They also called out amiibo support as enhanced for Switch 2, but given that was in the original release on Nintendo Switch, we can only assume they mean the list of supported amiibo has grown, there have been more than 100 new amiibo figures released since Skyrim first hit Switch back in 2017.
The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 release is also the only versions of the game that include some Legend of Zelda themed items, though they feel janked on in the Switch release, hopefully not so in the Switch 2 version.
