The Elder Scrolls Online is heading to the home of the Bretons for this years expansion

After teasing the reveal a few weeks back, Zenimax Online Studios have unveiled the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls Online, High Isle: Legacy of the Bretons. Check out the reveal trailer for it below.

Making its debut in The Elder Scrolls, the home of the Bretons will offer players a years worth of content to enjoy, from new characters to meet, dungeons to raid and quests to undertake, along with a mystery or two to solve.

The beginning will happen on March 14 for PC and Mac, and March 29 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, when the Ascending Tide DLC is released. This DLC will feature two challenging new PvE dungeons: The Coral Aerie and Shipwright’s Regret. In these exciting new four-player PvE activities, you’re tasked with investigating the remnants of the once-proud All Flags Navy and assaulting a costal hideout of the mysterious Ascendant Order.

The real adventure will begin on June 6 for PC and Mac, and then June 21 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, when High Isle is released. This is where the real meat of this years content is released and with it, players will get some 30 hours of new content to enjoy, across the all new (and never before seen locations) the islands of High Isle and Amenos.

In the upcoming High Isle Chapter, you have the opportunity to discover a part of Nirn never-before-seen in the Elder Scrolls series: the ancient island home of the Breton elite. Within the Systres Archipelago, explore a bountiful tropical atoll, ringed by stunning white cliffs and host to both majestic castles and dense jungles.

While the new lands are bright and cheerful, there lies a dark secret beneath the surface, a shadow of conspiracy if you will. The main story that players will get to experience will have you tasked with uncovering the plots of a sinister order of the knights, one which threatens the peace and safety of the lands. At the head of the order players will find the Ascendant Lord, someone who has a mysterious power and the means to claim it.

While the main storyline is a stand-alone tale in its own right, the events of the High Isle Chapter continue the greater Legacy of the Bretons storyline that begins with the Ascending Tide DLC in March and will progress throughout the entirety of 2022, with a dungeon pack and another story pack still to come.

It won’t just be new lands to explore and villains to face, there will be time to relax at an inn and take up a hand of cards in the new game Tales of Tribute. This game allows you to compete against the NPC’s of the world, as well as other players, but you had best be on your toes, it is a fast paced title.

As you unlock cards and build your deck, you can challenge folks from all over Tamriel, not just the High Isle and the more you win, the more rewards and achievements you will earn.

Finally, a new location means new companions to have fight alongside you and in High Isle, Ember the Khajiit sorcerer and Isobel Velois the Breton knight, are ready to join the fight.

Right, that is a lot of information, more specific details about some of the new gear and events can be found on the games site here, but there are a few final things to note, specifically around how to get it.

First up, for those who are only starting their adventure this year, there is The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: High Isle to get, which comes with the newest expansion, but also Blackwood, Greymoor, Elsweyr, Summerset, and Morrowind. If you only have the base game, or just one of the expansions, this can help you fill up your map.

If you already own all the previously released content, or just want to enjoy the High Isles, then you need The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle Upgrade, which gives you access to the new location and all its content.

Those seeking a little extra can opt to get the Collector’s Edition of either one and that will score you some additional in-game rewards at launch:

  • Amenos Ornaug mount

  • Balfiera Senche Cub pet

  • Ascendant Knight Outfit Style

  • Hoard of the Schemers memento

  • High Isle emote pack

If you pre-order the content, before release, you will also get some extra goodies as well, including a limited time offer of a new pet, but for that you must order before April 4. All the details about what is included with what version, can be found here.
