The Alienware Aurora R13 is pricey, but powerful

Alienware recently announced the Aurora R13, their redesign of their desktop line that not only brings forth the Legend 2.0 design language, it also manages to improve the air flow, whilst keeping the case down and more, for the full reveal of things, check out our story here.

Over the weekend they also hosted a livestream, where they went into more detail on the new Aurora R13, as well as celebrated 25 years of Alienware, yes they have been at it that long, you can check out that stream below, just be warned it is a long one.

Some news that wasn’t available to us last week is the pricing of those new desktops and much like other Alienware hardware, it won’t be cheap. Unlike some desktops which are locked into Intel, Alienware are set to offer the choice for the customer, they can go with Intel or AMD, but there is a big price difference between them.

For those seeking the Intel version, prices start at:

  • AU $2799 / NZ $3099.

However if AMD is more your speed, then the prices for that CPU start at:

  • AU $3699 / NZ $4099.

So yes, that is a pricy bump, but those are just starting prices, configurations of the hardware will provide a higher cost.

Of course, prices are nice to know, but there is a question as to when you can order one, both will be available in Australia and New Zealand, starting on November 9, so a month or so from now.
