Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! is opening enlistment this March
Dotemu and developer Auroch Digital have announced that Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! will accept enlistment on March 16, giving players a chance to fight for citizenship. A demo for the game is out now on Steam, for those who want to test their skills now. A new trailer has also been released, showing off the gameplay.
Players will be put into the boots of now Major Samantha Dietz, as she hunts down the assassin bug during the first bug war, which is what fans known as the original movie.
Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War! gives you freedom to tackle open-area missions however you like. Roam expansive battlefields to find objectives, defend zones from waves of attackers, hunt down towering Bugs and pull fellow troopers back from the brink. Each stage hides secrets, and there’s plenty of unlockable firepower — including pilotable mechanical bipeds — as you face a terrifying assortment of close-combat, flying and tanklike Arachnids intent on ripping you apart.
Play as Dietz in the single-player campaign and wage war across Klendathu, Planet P and beyond. Arm yourself with a brutal arsenal of 14 weapons (including the iconic Morita rifle), 11 Tactical Support Drops and the M7 Razorback mech in a gloriously gory 3D pixel-art combat experience that keeps humanity on top. New recruits can also train in the game’s anti-Bug combat mode to sharpen the skills needed to eliminate the insectoid menace.
The demo is out now on Steam, with the full game coming on March 16 for Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
