Star Wars Jedi Survivor is getting ported to last gen consoles

During a conference call, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson revealed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be coming to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

This is the statement that Wilson made, transcribed by VGC.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is pure blockbuster entertainment, rooted in a timeless, culture-defining IP, uur team at Respawn proudly launched this title to critical acclaim and commercial success. Millions of players have already engaged with the game, making this one of the biggest events in the Star Wars galaxy this year.

Thanks to the strength of this legendary franchise and community demand, our development team has committed to bringing this Jedi experience to PS4 and Xbox One.

Over the coming year, we will harness the community’s passion and capitalize on key Star Wars franchise moments to drive continued engagement for this incredible game.
— Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic ARTS

When the game was first announced, it was revealed to be a next-gen console title only, along with PC, where as the first game launched on the then current gen and got a next-gen enhancement years later.

When we reviewed it, we noted a number of technical issues with the game, something the studio has been working on since its release. So to hear that the studio is now going to port down to other consoles, while the games still suffers from issues on its initial consoles, is not the best news.

Of course, for those console gamers who have not yet been able to upgrade to a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series console, this will make them happy. The only real downside right now is that there is no date for this release.
