Skull and Bones invades Sydney as the game celebrates its upcoming release

Avast there, it be too late to alter course, as pirates have invaded Sydney Harbour, or at least videogame related pirates as Skull and Bones had their Australian launch party on February 8th.

While we were not able to attend in person, it seems there were quite a few who did, some wearing their best pirate attire, likely plundered from hidden treasure chests located through the harbour.

Of course, it would not be a pirate themed event, without a pirate ship and Ubisoft had one on hand, though there were thankfully no reports of any pillaging occurring once it docked. Though when was the last time you saw a pirate ship with the Opera House in the background?

While grog was flowing and sea shanties were being sung, Ubisoft Singapore, the lead developers of the game sent two of their finest crew to beguile attendees, with the hopes of securing more deck hands for the upcoming launch. Gabriel Tay, the Associate Content Director & Jessica Chung, the Project Manager presented to the crowd, who I am told were quite respectable during the talks, which is odd for a group of pirates.

The venue was decked out in pirate gear, and there were even stations of the game set up for those who wished to let their inner pirate lose, well looser.

The game is holding an Open Beta this weekend, with all progress transferring through to the full game, which if you are keen to pick it up, our bargain guide will save you a dabloon or two.
