PlayStation Plus has evolved in Australia, giving fans even more choice

PlayStation Australia have announced that the enhanced PlayStation Plus offerings are now available in Australia, meaning gamers who want more from their PlayStation consoles, or fans of the history of PlayStation, can now enjoy games from across the years.

While the service is live in most countries around the world now, having rolled out over the past few weeks, not all the games are the same in each region. So just be aware that a game that is part of the American line-up may not be here just yet.

“The global launch of the all-new PlayStation Plus represents a massive evolution of our game subscription service offering, and we are pleased that fans worldwide can now enjoy hundreds of fantastic games available in the PlayStation Plus catalogue,” said Jim Ryan, President and CEO, Sony Interactive Entertainment. “The high calibre of content is what sets PlayStation Plus apart, and the service will continue to grow with new monthly game offerings that include some of our most celebrated titles on PlayStation platforms. We are truly grateful for the passionate support of our PlayStation community over the years.”

The new PlayStation Plus comes in three flavours, if you don’t want to upgrade from the plan you have had for years, then you don’t have to, but that plan will now be called PlayStation Plus Essential. Here is the breakdown of the three tiers, including their monthly, quarterly and yearly prices, as provided by PlayStation.

PlayStation Plus Essential

• Benefits:

  • Provides the same benefits that PlayStation Plus members are getting today, such as PlayStation®4 (PS4™) and PlayStation®5 (PS5™) monthly games, online multiplayer access, exclusive discounts, cloud storage and more. There are no changes for existing PlayStation Plus members in this plan and pricing remains the same.

• Price: $11.95 monthly / $33.95 quarterly / $79.95 yearly

PlayStation Plus Extra

• Benefits:

  • Provides all the benefits from the Essential plan and adds a catalogue of up to 400* of the most enjoyable PlayStation 4 (PS4™) and PlayStation 5 (PS5™) games - including blockbuster hits from our PlayStation Studios catalogue and third-party partners. Games in the Extra plan are downloadable for play.

• Price: $18.95 monthly / $54.95 quarterly / $134.95 yearly

PlayStation Plus Deluxe

• Benefits:

  • Provides all the benefits from Essential and Extra plans and adds additional games, including:

    • A catalogue of beloved classic games from the original PlayStation , PlayStation 2 (PS2™), and PlayStation Portable (PSP™) generation.

  • Time-limited game trials are also offered in this plan, so customers can try select games before they buy.

• Price: $21.95 monthly / $63.95 quarterly / $154.95 yearly
