Pikmin 4 is getting a new update bringing many new modes to the game
In a weird move, even weirder than those recent Pikmin themed shorts, Nintendo have announced a new update is coming for Pikmin 4, more than 2 years after the game released. Check out the trailer to get an idea of what is coming.
One of the big additions to the update will be that of Decor Pikmin, which are like normal Pikmin, but with accessories, you can see some of them below.
It does not appear that they do anything in the game, but if you are one of the few people in the world that ‘play’ Pikmin Bloom, you can transfer them to your squad there.
The major new addition to the game though are the two new modes that impact how active the creatures are. The new Relaxed Mode makes them just that, relaxed and here no creature will attack you and your Pikmin unless you attack them first. For those who want a real challenge, the new Fierce Mode will do just that, with the opposite effect as Relaxed. This would be great for anyone who also felt the original mode was too easy, something we called out in our review.
The game will also include a new Field Camera to the mix, letting you snap shots of your Pikmin as they do various things, you can even have them don special accessories and rumours are Decor Pikmin might show up here.
The only thing missing from the update is a Nintendo Switch 2 update, but who knows, maybe that will come in another 2 years.
The update is coming in November to both the full release and the demo, yes they are adding new modes to a demo. There is no release date just yet, but knowing Nintendo we won’t know when it is coming until its made live.
