Phantom Abyss whips itself into shape and will leave early access later this month

Phantom Abyss, which launched into early access back in June 2021, will finally get its 1.0 update on January 25 for both PC and Xbox, check out the new trailer for the game below.

The 1.0 launch will deliver a completely overhauled Adventure Mode, giving you a choice of temples to explore, each with a specific whip, relic, and series of challenges to overcome.

It will also be introducing the new and improved core experience with Abyss Mode, previously called Classic Mode, which challenges players to enter a temple and progress through all four areas within and collect the relic at the end. Only one person will ever complete each temple, so time (and skill) are of the essence.

Finally, whips will no longer be cursed but are instead unlocked by playing Adventure Mode while whips skins are rewarded through player op-in challenges.

We have been playing the game since it debuted and can’t wait to see what the final version looks like.
