Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater reveals more new details
During Konami’s recent Press Start event, they revealed a new look at Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which included the new multiplayer mode. First the Xbox version of the latest trailer.
The trailer above shows off that Bomberman is being added to the Xbox version of the game, whereas in the PlayStation 5 and PC release, the Ape’s from Ape Escape are joining the action.
The other part of the games presentation was the confirmation of a new multiplayer game and before you get worried, it was confirmed it would be more like Metal Gear Online, rather than the recent Metal Gear Survive. The new multiplayer mode is called Fox Hunt and as you might have guessed from the name, is a new way to play hide and seek.
Gameplay was shown off, though only a small amount of it, you can learn more by reading what the director of the mode said.
“Fox Hunt is a completely original online multiplayer mode, though it shares the same world with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the gameplay is completely different. When we say Metal Gear multiplayer, many fans will probably think of Metal Gear Online, but Fox Hunt will be its own, new type of mode.
We very much appreciate all the long-time fans of Metal Gear Online that always wanted to see it make a comeback, but the landscape of multiplayer games has changed a lot since Metal Gear Online. It took a lot of careful consideration to think about what a new online mode should look like.
Based on the iconic stealth and survival elements of the Metal Gear series, we’re taking camouflage and hide-and-go-seek to the next level. We challenged ourselves to make something unique that is more than just a shootout. We’ve used that back-and-forth tension of staying hidden or searching out the enemy to create an online experience unique to Metal Gear.
Those are all the details we can share with you for now, but we’re working hard on getting Fox Hunt to you all. We plan to have more news on Fox Hunt in the future, so please stay tuned.”
Finally, it was confirmed that the Secret Theatre would return, with all existing movies available from the outset, but there would be all new ones to discover. While the new ones are easy to see, they are film canisters being carried by enemy soldiers, you do have to obtain them still.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is launching on August 28 for PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S.
