Lego Super Mario is bringing Dry Bowser Castle to fans and teasing more to come

As part of the ‘Mario Day’ celebrations in America, the Lego Group hosted a live stream that let them debut a new set for the Lego Super Mario series. Say hello to the Dry Bowser Castle Battle Expansion Set.

This new set features an opening Bowser-jaw-shaped entrance, a crane to rescue the Purple Toad from the trap and topple Dry Bowser, flippers to defeat the Bone Piranha Plant and Bone Goomba, a Magmaargh attack function, gym, secret entrance, secret strategy room, Key Block and a Treasure Chest Block.

As this is designed as part of the Lego Super Mario series of playsets, a Lego Mario, Lego Luigi or Lego Peach starter set is required to make full use of it.

At the LEGO Group, we celebrate the Super Mario universe every day, but we’re delighted to do something extra special to mark MAR10 Day. We’re so excited to reveal the LEGO® Super Mario™ Dry Bowser Castle Battle Expansion Set. Set in an iconic Super Mario location, fans are tasked to find the secret entrance (just watch out for the Magmaargh!), defeat the Bone Piranha Plant and Bone Goomba, use the crane to rescue the Purple Toad, then quickly grab the key. What lays behind the door is secret – you’ll have to wait and see what’s revealed!

The set is set to release on August 1st and is priced at $169.95, orders can be made direct from Lego before then and selected retailers.

The presentation ended with the reveal that a new Donkey Kong themed series is on the way, with the man ape himself being shown off. What is interesting is that he has a basket a platform in general, which lets Mario or the others ride along.
