Jump across realms to save them all in Akatori
Contrast Games have announced that Akatori, their next game will have a demo in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, in fact you can get it now. They also released a new trailer for the game, which you can check out below.
Players follow Mako, a young monk raised in the Firebird Temple, as she sets out to save a network of realms ravaged by the Amber Storms, a corrupting force that warps life itself and leaves once-vibrant lands twisted and haunted. Bound to her staff is a mysterious red bird whose ancient seal grants strange powers—and whose hidden past holds key secrets tied to the storms. Mako must traverse interconnected worlds, confront powerful enemies and reluctant allies, and unravel the origin of the corruption before it consumes everything she cares for. The story blends atmospheric environmental storytelling with direct character encounters and dialogue, threading themes of growth, self-discovery, and resilience through exploration, moral choices, and combat.
The demo itself will provide players with around 45 minutes of gameplay, taking them through three different environments and showing off a few gameplay mechanics. If you want to download it you can do so here.
When the game is ready to release it will do so on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but there is no date yet.
