It's driving time once more as PGA Tour 2K23 is teeing off this October

2K have announced that PGA Tour 2K23 is ready to swing again as the tee time has been set for October 14, for PC, Xbox and PlayStation, sorry Switch owners no new golf for you.

This year, the cover star for the game is Tiger Woods, who is making his debut on the cover for the series, though he is by no means new to the cover of a golf game. In fact his role this time around, wasn’t just as a model for the box art, he is helping shape the development, by ensuring that everything is as accurate as it can be.

“It’s not only great to be back on the cover of a video game, but the Executive Director role makes this a truly unique opportunity,” said Tiger Woods. “2K is the perfect partner for me and I am excited to continue impacting the game and culture of golf beyond my play on the PGA TOUR.”

Enough of that though, it is time to check out the debut trailer.

In addition to Woods, there are 14 other players stepping up for a swing at launch, including Justin Thomas, Lexi Thompson, Tony Finau, Lydia Ko, Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris, and Brooke Henderson.

The game will offer up Exhibition, multplayer, Divot Derby or the ability to take a pro, or your own character to climb the leaderboard and claim the FedExCup in PGA Tour MyCAREER mode. In addition to the pros, the broadcast-style presentation and commentary team of Rich Beem and Luke Elvy also return, with the addition of English golf pro and broadcaster Henni Koyack.

There will be 20 licensed courses included with the game at launch, with new additions including the South Course of Wilmington Country Club, The Renaissance Club, St. George’s Golf and Country Club and more. The much beloved course creator is making a return as well, though there is no word on if the courses made in the previous game will carry across.

The player customisation is back as well, giving you the chance to deck your golfing avatar out in brands like Nike Golf, TaylorMade and Bridgestone Golf, with many more as well. Clubs and balls from brands including Bridgestone Golf, Callaway Golf, COBRA, Mizuno, Odyssey Golf, Scotty Cameron, TaylorMade, Titleist and Wilson are available to deck out players’ golf bags and keep them swinging with swag.

In addition to the returning analog stick swing, a three-click swing option is also available for an added level of customization so players can play the way they like.

Finally, this new game will offer up new casual modes to help rookies and rusties get into the game, while giving seasoned players new challenges and opportunities to work on their skills. The introduction of Topgolf offers a unique experience emulating the popular golf entertainment phenomenon, where players can aim for targets and try to earn the highest score. Training mode offers multiple ways to develop skills, including swing calibration, lessons, chipping practice, a driving range and a putting green.
