Overnight Intel hosted the first in a series of event days, where they plan to reveal a host of new updates to their silicon, hardware and more. The one that is most important to gamers, is the reveal of the 13th generation Intel CPU, codenamed Raptor Lake.

The new 13th Gen Intel Core family includes six unlocked desktop processors for the best experiences while gaming, streaming and recording. The flagship 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900K processor features up to 24 cores (8 Performance-cores, 16 Efficient-cores), 32 threads and blazing clock speeds up to 5.8 gigahertz.

“We are raising the standards of PC performance once again with our latest generation of flagship 13th Gen Intel Core Processors,” said Michelle Johnston Holthaus, executive vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group at Intel. “The 13th Gen Intel Core family is the latest example of how Intel is enabling amazing experiences to happen on the PC – at scale and across all PC product segments. Check out the below video, to get a better idea of just how the new e-core CPU’s will make multitasking better.

The 13th gen Intel CPU will come in a number of specs,

  • i5-13600K - 14-core up to 5.1GHz

  • i7-13700K - 16-core up to 5.4GHz

  • i9-13900K - 24-core up to 5.8GHz

Each of the models will work better, with the additional codes in the i9 model, just allowing for more multitasking potential.

The cores themselves are going to be great for those content creators, regardless of the medium you work with, but gamers will also find great value with them. Here are some quotes from some companies, working to ensure the games they are making will work the best on the new CPUs.
