Owlcat Games have revealed that they are staying in the world of Warhammer, with the announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, a new tactical RPG coming sometime soon. Check out the announcement trailer for the game below.
In this new tactical-RPG, players will get the chance to step into the shadows, the opposite of most games, as they become an acolyte of the Inquisition. Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is set against the backdrop of the Noctis Aeterna and the mystery of the Tyrant Star, players will lead a warband of diverse companions in a desperate battle against heresy and corruption, from loyal Imperial subjects, such as a veteran Guardsman from the death world of Catachan, to nefarious xenos, including a bird-like Kroot mercenary.
With intricate investigations, a turn-based combat system, and choices that carry grave consequences, Dark Heresy is an atmospheric dive into the brutality and mysticism of one of the Imperium’s most feared organizations. The game greatly expands on the ideas introduced in Rogue Trader and features fully voiced dialogues.
In this brand-new game, deep reactivity with countless variations will grant you the ultimate role-playing experience. The path of an Inquisitor is not for the fainthearted. There are no easy decisions in the war for humanity's soul — will you choose to hold fast to the puritanical mandate of the Emperor, or embrace a more radical and pragmatic approach? The choice is yours.
There is no release date for the game, but it can be wishlisted on all its platforms, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, GOG and Epic Game Store.
