Ghost of Tsushima will move to a much larger screen, as a movie is in the works

In a post via the PlayStation Blog, Nate Fox, Game Director at Sucker Punch Productions, the folks behind both the Infamous and Sly Cooper series, announced that their more recent title, Ghost of Tsushima is being made into a movie, with John Wick director Chad Stahelski leading the action.

We are happy to partner with Sony Pictures to make this happen. And Jin is in very good hands with the film’s director. Chad Stahelski created something special with John Wick. His vision for what could be, backed up by years of experience, combined to create some of the finest action scenes ever created. If anyone could bring to life the razor-sharp tension of Jin’s katana combat, it’s Chad Stahelski.

I know I speak for everyone at Sucker Punch by sending out a massive THANK YOU to Ghost fans. Your support for the game is what makes opportunities like a movie come true. It’s been a sincere pleasure checking out your photo-mode images posted online and fighting alongside you in Legends. We’re so happy to be on this ride with you.

He also confirmed that the game has sold over 6 million copies, which is a very good number. Back to the movie though, there are no other details, but more will likely come to light.

This is not the movie to be adapted from a game, but it is one of the few to be handled in house, by the company that makes them, Sony. They also have the Uncharted movie, starring Tom Holland on the way and while filming has wrapped, there is no date for when it will release.
