Get ready for a wii-ly good time as Nintendo Switch Sports is ready to serve up some fun this April

In a move that is part surprising and part welcoming, Nintendo have revealed that Wii Sports is getting a revival of sorts, with Nintendo Switch Sports, coming to the platform on April 29.

The game will include six sports at release:

  • Tennis

  • Bowling

  • Chambara

  • Soccer

  • Badminton

  • Volleyball

But later in the year Golf is being added with a free update, which leaves the door open for additional sports to be added.

As far as playing options go, you can either play together in person or online with family and friends, but if you want a real challenge, you can challenge players around the world. In addition to customising your avatar with items collected from playing online, there are all kinds of ways to have fun, such as testing your ability in the Pro League where you can try to increase your rank by winning in the different sports.

In addition to the Golf update later in the year, the game is getting one before that, that will come sometime in the Winter months and with it, players will be able to play football matches with a Joy-Con controller and the Leg Strap accessory.

The Leg Strap is the same one that is included with Ring Fit Adventures, so if you already own that, you can go digital, but if you need on, the retail release will come with it as well.

The game is priced at a cheaper rate and can be ordered right now from the eShop, however if you want to wait and see, a free test event is taking place next weekend, that will let you sample three sports, against players from around the world.
