Echoes of the End gets a massive update with its new Enhanced Edition

Myrkur Games released their debut title, Echoes of the End back in August, and while it was good it did have some issues. While a number of issues were fixed pretty quickly, player feedback was vast and the team have been working away on an update, which they have released today.

The game’s new update changes the title to Echoes of the End: Enhanced Edition, because almost every single part of the game has been touched by it. From new outfits and upgrades, level redesign, enemy behaviour and even how much Ryn slides around, everything has been touched. Here are the highlights as revealed by the team:

A brand new equipment system that lets you mix and match cosmetic outfits with relics that modify your stats and abilities.

The Enhanced Edition introduces a brand new equipment system to the game, with 13 different outfits that can be unlocked for Ryn. Each outfit can be fitted with a variety of relics, powerful items that let you tailor Ryn’s stats and abilities to your preferred playstyle or experiment with new builds.

A combat overhaul that takes the changes already made in our first combat update and pushes them even further.

Combat has received a massive overhaul. Nearly every animation has been retimed or redone, with smoother transitions, improved input buffering, refined lock-on, more responsive animation cancelling, and greatly enhanced hit feedback that makes every strike feel sharper, heavier, and more satisfying.

A complete rework of Ryn’s core animation set, designed to tackle the feeling of “floatiness” and detachment from the world.

Ryn’s movement has been massively refined to feel more grounded, fluid, and responsive. Nearly all animations have been retimed or updated, including new facial performances for certain attacks and an improved controller experience with better haptics and button bindings.

A redesign of the game’s first chapter and tutorial experience, designed to get you into the flow of the story quicker.

The entire first chapter has been reworked both visually and mechanically. New voice lines, improved performance across all hardware, and streamlined tutorials and interactions make for a faster, smoother experience. Some of Ryn’s most powerful and engaging abilities can now be unlocked faster, and the new outfits and relics system makes progression more rewarding from the very beginning.

New Game+

A new difficulty mode, Journey, offers a more balanced experience for most players. After completing the game once, you can now start over with New Game+, carrying over all your abilities, relics, and outfits, and face off against elite enemies with powerful new abilities that provide a fresh challenge for returning players.

And so much more.
