Diablo IV is set to hold a closed beta, that focuses on the end game

Blizzard have been working on Diablo IV for a number of years now and they are getting closer to the promised 2023 release, the exact date for that is still unknown. Before then though, like most games they are going to host a closed beta, to get player feedback and test things out, the only difference to others, this one will be all about the end game.

The End Game is what everything after the main story line is called, in some games that means you can just wander the world and complete extra missions, however for Diablo that usually means taking on larger and more dangerous foes, discovering and conquering dangerous new dungeons and a whole lot more.

Additionally, the Closed End Game Beta will be playable on PC and Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 consoles—cross-play and cross-progress for all platforms will also be supported.

Check out the video below, to hear what is coming in this closed beta.

These are the specific end game offerings that are being included in the beta, no word on if this is all the game will have, but I doubt it.

  • Helltide

  • Nightmare Dungeons

  • Whispers of the Dead

  • Fields of Hatred

  • Paragon Boards

Rather than me just copy and paste the details on each, you can hit up the official games website, to learn all about the new modes. One thing we can talk about though, is who is going to get to play in this closed beta.

The best examples of how the end game content will impact players, is by calling long time end game players from past games into test it out and that is what they are doing here. Blizzard are using gameplay data, if you have shared it with them, to see how much time you have spent in the end game, so if you have never touched it, the odds of you being invited are slim.

Details on how to ensure you are all set up to be invited, if you have the relevant requirements met, can be found here. But if you are not an end game player and still want to help test the game out, some more welcoming betas will be coming in 2023, but there are no details on those at this time.

The game is coming in 2023 to PC, PlayStation and Xbox platforms, but there is no specific date yet, but the first half of the year is quite likely.
