Diablo IV details its first season including how the seasonal realm will function

The other day Blizzard announced the first season of content coming to Diablo IV, which will kick off on July 21st, giving players even more reason to venture across the world, check out the trailer for it below.

Now as per Blizzard tradition, they have explained everything in a lot of detail on their site, so check there for all that, but for the highlights, we have you covered.

The first thing to note is that the new character will be introduced, Cormond, a former priest who will help you deal with these new Malignant Monsters that are threatening the world.

Another key aspect you need to know before getting all excited is that the seasons will take place within the Seasonal Realm. Yes, in order to participate in Seasons, a new character must be made on the Seasonal Realm. You do not need to purchase a Battle Pass or any add-ons to play the Seasonal content, but you must have completed the campaign on either the Eternal or Seasonal Realm with at least one character.

This does not mean starting from scratch each season, as your new character will have access to the following:

  • The option to skip the Campaign.

  • Your Mount available immediately.

  • All previously discovered Altars of Lilith unlocked, and the corresponding Renown for them.

  • All previously discovered areas of the map revealed, and the corresponding renown for them.

So with new threats, characters and more to discover, it should be a challenging season.
