Broken Roads picks up a publisher and shifts its release to 2022

Team17 have announced that they are working with local developers Drop Bear Bytes, to bring their isometric, turn-based role-playing game to PC and Consoles in 2022, check out the new trailer for Broken Roads.

Broken Roads has an extra offering, not only is it made here in Australia, down in the coastal town of Torquay, Victoria, but it is also set within Western Australia, so while the story might be familiar at times to most players, the location and humour should be something very special.

But that is not all that is special about the game, because at the heart of Broken Roads’ is an interesting morality system – the Moral Compass – which influences quests, dialogue, and character development. The system is shaped along four different philosophical paths: Humanist, Utilitarian, Machiavellian, and Nihilist, each with their own unique traits.

As the journey begins, players will be asked a series of questions – moral quandaries – that determine their starting position on the compass. Decisions made throughout the game will then shift their philosophical leaning and affect future choices, quests, and reactions from the people they meet.

One look at the games hand-drawn visuals, or a listen to the soundtrack, which is being composed with instruments constructed from everyday objects, you can’t help but be drawn into it.

The game is coming to PC and consoles in 2022, but there is no set date yet, or what consoles are included in that.
