Borderlands 4 is coming to Switch 2 this October

2K and Gearbox have announced that Borderlands 4 will release on Nintendo Switch 2 this October 3rd, just a few weeks after the release on other platforms.

The news came out via a social post by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, who admitted that they were aware of fans lack of faith in delivering the game in 2025, as was promised.

When we spoke with him earlier in the year, he confirmed then that they had no idea about the date. He also confirmed that Panic Button were working on the game alongside Gearbox. So, it seems the two studios were able to work together to get a date close to the other platforms.

The game will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 12, with Nintendo Switch 2 coming on October 3.

You can check out some gameplay from us that we captured back in May when we got extended hands on with the game.
