Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From The Ashes gets a gameplay walkthrough

Ubisoft have released a gameplay walkthrough of the upcoming paid expansion From the Ashes, which takes players back to Pandora and introduces them to So’lek, check it out.
So’lek’s story is set up as one of revenge, as they fight back against the Ash Clan their new friends the RDA, as such the expansion will be entirely single player. As such So’lek is going up against a much more hostile world than players will have experienced in the Main Game.
One of the new abilities that So’lek has access to are finishers, which are just like you might imagine with that name. Finishers represent the full strength of a Na’vi Warrior. They can be performed in stealth, but they also function as a tool in the midst of combat, allowing you to dispatch enemies quickly and keep momentum going.
You can perform Finishers on the ground, or when engaging in aerial combat. These can be enhanced through So’lek’s dedicated skill tree, making him even more lethal and enabling other powerful moves, providing bursts of healing and more.
There is actually a lot more to learn about those and the other new abilities and updates coming with the expansion, you can read all about them here.
As you can see by the roadmap above, the gameplay walkthrough is just the start for the adventure. The games 3rd person update is coming on December 5th, you can learn more about that here, and more gameplay details for the expansion will be revealed in the lead up to release. The 3rd person addition will be quite welcome, as in our review, we called out the choice for making it first person, which gave the game a Far Cry feeling.
The release date is December 19, the day after the new movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, hits local screens. The game is available now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, but if you don’t already own it you can buy it and this expansion in a new release, or buy the complete edition, which gives you the base game, the previous two expansions and this new one.
