Assassin's Creed Mirage officially unveiled at Ubisoft Forward
As promised, Ubisoft Forward did reveal new details, and the first trailer, for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a game that is set around 20 years before the kick off of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and features a much younger and less experienced Basim. Check out the reveal trailer below.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes place in ninth-century Baghdad at the peak of its Golden Age, and tells the tale of Ibn Is'haq, someone who starts out as a street thief, before becoming an assassin.
What is perhaps more interesting, given that its a Ubisoft title, is that the game is being aimed as a shorter, more narrative driven experience than more recent games in the series.
Ubisoft have explained that Baghdad in the ninth century was a bustling metropolis, so it becomes a welcome playground for Basim, as he stalks his prey using the series' largest assortment of tools to date.
While the assassins are not quite the assassins we know, they are called The Hidden One - just in case you thought that was regarding the Templars, they still have resources, a large group to support them and of course, their creed.
As Basim explores Baghdad, he'll be able to get contracts and upgrades from a network of Hidden One bureaus throughout the city, collect clues on his targets, and take them down with swift assassinations.
The game is coming to Xbox, PlayStation and PC in 2023, but there is no firmer date yet.
