An all-new adventure is coming with Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon

A surprise reveal at the Game Awards from Platinum Games was that of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, a prequel story for the witch. Check out the trailer for it below, which features a gorgeous new art style.

In Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, players take on the role of Cereza, a young apprentice witch, and start a fateful journey into a forbidden forest to gain the power to save her mother. In addition to sporting a striking and distinct storybook-inspired art style of its own, this new title also features gameplay never before seen in the Bayonetta series. Controlling both Cereza and her infernal demon partner, Cheshire, players will focus on exploration, combat and puzzle solving to help Cereza go deeper into the forest.

If you are confused right now, Cereza is the actual name of Bayonetta, so this game is going to tell the story of how she became a witch and likely where her new name comes from.

In an even more surprising twist, the game won’t see a four year delay before it is released, as the game is dated for March 17th, 2023, so just over three months from now.
