Alienware are bringing an enhanced QD-OLED display to gamers with the AW3423DWF

Alienware have announced that they are releasing another entry in their Quantum Dot OLED display range, called the AW3423DWF, or by its street name the Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor, this aims to expand the range, but still delivering on what the AW3423DW - which we reviewed, offers.

Just like the previously launched AW3423DW model, this new monitor offers the same impressive picture qualities of Quantum Dot-OLED technology including consistent colour uniformity, wide colour coverage, deep black tones and incredible brightness. With WQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and blazing-fast 0.1ms GtG response time, gamers can stay ahead of the competition without stuttering, input lag or motion blur while playing fast-paced games

The most impressive addition however, is that the display now supports VRR, that is Variable Refresh Rate, up to 120Hz, so while its not the 144Hz that most gamers enjoy, it means that if you hook the display up to a PC that supports it or the PlayStation 5, you will get the smoothest gaming experience possible.

Here are some of the features that Alienware are calling out on this new display:

  • AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro and VESA® AdaptiveSync Display certification: Experience tear-free, low-latency, HDR gaming.

  • 165Hz Native Refresh Rate: Allow fast-moving graphics to be seen with incredible clarity so gamers can react quicker in the game.

  • New OSD Joystick: Access various preset game modes (FPS, MOBA/RTS, RPG), and easily switch to the new Creator mode if you’re a gamer who also creates content.

  • TUV-certified ComfortView Plus: Helps reduce blue-light emissions without sacrificing any of the brilliant QD-OLED colours.

Sadly, there has been no word on release dates or price for this one, but given that the current model is still up for $2,299 AUD, I would expect this one to ship with a larger price tag, whenever it does release.
