Alan Wake Remastered is bringing the horror back later this year

Remedy Entertainment have confirmed that the rumours of Alan Wake being remastered are true, as the game is coming to PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

There are not a lot of details, we just know that the game is almost complete, thanks to a message to fans that Sam Lake, head of Remedy released via an Alan Wake fan site, The Sudden Site.

The original game was only available for Xbox 360 and a few years later, PC. We are thrilled about the opportunity to bring the remastered version out for a new generation of platforms. I am excited to hear what you think about Alan Wake.

Alan Wake Remastered is the original experience you fell in love with all those years ago. We did not want to change that. But the visuals all around, including the character model of Alan Wake himself and the cinematics, have been updated and improved with some choice next-generation upgrades.

Alan Wake Remastered will launch this fall. Stay tuned for more information soon.

This is for you. I hope you enjoy it, either again, like meeting an old friend, or for the first time.

Yours,

Sam Lake, Creative Director, Remedy Entertainment

You can read the full statement here, though there isn’t much more, apart from thanking the fans. We do have the current box art, though not for our region, so just ignore the rating.

Something that people have noticed is that the game is not currently coming to Steam and there for folks who own the game are not getting a free upgrade, to that I say good. This isn’t an enhanced version, this is a ground up remastering, which are always paid purchases, so if you are complaining that you don’t get this for free, check yourself first.
