Acer is updating their Nitro gaming series of laptops, with more power and screen sizes

Acer are on hand at CES and showing off a wealth of new laptops, but we are going to focus on the gaming ones, specifically the Nitro series. The 2023 update now features the latest 13th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs. One major addition this year is the new Nitro 16, which offers a larger screen and replaces the 15inch model.

The new Nitro 16 (AN16-51) gaming laptop comes with a 5% larger screen area than its predecessor and features an upgraded 16-inch WUXGA or WQXGA display with a 165 Hz refresh rate that supports NVIDIA Advanced Optimus, allowing users to dynamically switch between the integrated graphics and discrete graphics without having to reboot. It comes with a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard and keeps colours bright with 100% sRGB colour gamut support and a boosted 84% screento-body ratio for a more attractive viewing experience.

The new Windows 11-based Acer Nitro laptops come with up to 32 GB of DDR5 4800 MHz memory, and up to a massive 2 TB M.2 PCIe Gen 4 storage so players can save more games, movies, and streaming footage on hand. Both laptops also come with one month of Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass, giving gamers access to hundreds of popular PC titles.

As for when this new model machine will be available in Australia, currently the company are looking for a Q2 release, which could mean April 1st or June 30th, or anywhere in between. As the date is not yet known, the local prices is not yet known, but we know the starting price in the US is $1,199. With that converted it comes to roughly $1,800 AUD and of course the prices will go up from there.
