Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro to Celebrate a Legacy of Innovation

Samsung have announced that a special edition Galaxy Z Flip5 phone is coming to Australia on November 1st, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the SGH-E700.

The SGH-E700 was one of the first mobile phones to include an antenna inside the device, so it didn’t have the little nub or worse, require you to extend a little flimsy stick. It was also one of the best designed flip phones of its time, something Samsung have carried over to this new retro inspired release.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro implements various distinctive features of the SGH-E700, such as the combination of indigo blue and silver colours, a UX design reinterpretation of 2000s pixel graphics and an exclusive animation on the Flex Window that portrays a cityscape with a touch of nostalgia.

The unique package includes three Flipsuit cards featuring logos from different eras of Samsung’s history, a Flipsuit case and a collector card engraved with a unique serial number that will add to the product’s collectible value for purchasing customers.

As for getting it, you can order one direct from Samsung with the price being set at $1,949, with Australia being one of only six countries getting the device. In case you were curious the others are Korea, the UK, France, Germany and Spain. The video below the image is the general Flip5 ad that they release a while back.
