Meet the all new Alienware Aurora, a modern day desktop built for gaming

Alienware is a brand that has been innovating and pushing the boundaries in Gaming dedicated hardware for 25 years. From the first ever desktop tower designed for gaming all the way back in 1996, to innovating designs such as unique chassis, their iconic triad design in 2014, and the introduction of Legend ID in 2019. Alienware have cemented themselves as the name brand of PC gaming hardware, and continue to push, innovate and expand.

We were lucky enough to be able to get hands on with the redesigned and new laptop gaming systems in the M15 R5 and M15 R6 offers, and were very impressed with the design and power that these units were managing to push out. However, in a market that is pushing the specs more and more every day, whilst demanding great visuals to match the technical specifications, Alienware really need to bring something new to the field if they are going to compete with other custom-built and pre-built systems that are now available with current generation parts.

In exciting news, Alienware have announced their next big step in Desktop gaming with the announcement of the newest Alienware Aurora system, that boasts toolless entry to make it the most accessible and upgradeable desktop on offer, to date. Also being revealed is the debut of their Legend 2.0 chassis. A slick and curvaceous chassis with a new open-air design. The new design increasing chassis volume by 50% without significantly expanding the overall footprint of the chassis.

Alongside this we are also seeing:

  • Enhanced acoustics: Open layout chassis with better air flow and thermal solution for a quieter system for customers

  • Upgraded thermal ceiling: Up to four 120mm system fans and liquid cooling options to provide a robust thermal architecture

  • Flexibility and upgradeability: Toolless design, better accessibility and premium component options allow for customisation

  • New customisation options: For the first time, Alienware is offering an optional transparent left-side panel for gamers to gaze inside and admire a dark new motherboard illuminated by up to eight unique zones of AlienFX customisable lighting.

The system itself is claiming a 5% graphics performance increase using the NVIDIA GeForce RTX3090 graphics card while running 3DMark TimeSpy graphics score tests when compared to the predecessor Aurora R12.

The new Aurora is modestly sized and weighted at:

  • Length: 589mm(23.2in)

  • Width: 225mm(8.86in)

  • Height: 510mm(20.1in)

  • Weight: 15.5Kgs. (34.2lbs.)
