Borderlands 3 is entering the arms race with its next DLC

Overnight 2K and Gearbox released more details about the upcoming DLC for Borderlands 3, including a look at new looks for the four vault hunters, but lets start with the all new Arms Race mode.

In this new mode, you are part of a reality show, hosted by former Vault Hunters Axton and Salvador and are dropped in to a previously unknown portion of Pandora that used to house a DAHL military base. Your goal is very simple, you need to get to the exit and escape, but there is a catch, the moment you are dropped on the island, a storm starts to close in on your position, it it catches up to you, you die. Very battle royale I know and just like the old BR genre, each time you start up to try again, your weapons, action skills and even passive abilities are randomised on you, so good luck.

Should you make it to the end, then you get to fight Heavyweight Harker, the final boss of this facility and if you take em out, then you get to keep all the loot that you collected along the way, even the legendary stuff. Should you run with friends, if one of you falls, you can be revived at respawn points, but if there are no points near anyone, then your run is done. Check out the below video to get an idea of what to expect, be warned, as the mode strips away your gear and settings, it will prove to be a real challenge for those that never change from one or two guns.

If that wasn’t enough for you, there will be a new set of skill trees available for the game as well, check out the new trees for Amara and FL4K here, and Moze and Zane here.

Of course, new trees mean maybe you want to change up your look and if you purchase the Season Pass 2, then you also get access to the new Multiverse Final Form cosmetic pack, which provides a look at the Vault Hunters, if they never became hunters.

The looks, while able to remain as shown below, can also be modify like the standard looks, so go nuts, if you want to.

Finally, if you wanted to get the game, then there are a few versions for you to consider, sure you can get the game as it stands now, or you get the Ultimate Edition, which will be available on all consoles and PC. Packed inside of the Ultimate Edition grants you will find the base game, multiple bonus cosmetic packs, and both the original Season Pass and Season Pass 2, which combined offer six exceptional content add-ons. Clearly if you already own all the currently available content, this is not the version for you.

For those looking to start their game on consoles, the new Next-Level edition comes with the game and the Multiverse Final Form cosmetic pack, but no season pass content, that is option for you to buy.
