HyperX have made a name for themselves over the past few years, in crafting some of the best headphones, keyboards and other PC accessories around, but it seems that now they are breaking out into other markets, console accessories.
At PAX Australia 2018, they were showcasing two products, both of which are not new ideas, but rather a different take on one and of course, with a little HyperX flair thrown in for good measure. The first of the two items is the Savage EXO SSD, a portable SSD which is set to replace the traditional external hard drive that we have all been using for the past decade. What makes this one a unique is that not only is an SSD device, meaning it loads up incredibly fast, but it is small and light, in fact its far lighter than you might be imagining. Given that HyperX is a division of Kingston, one of the leading companies when it comes to memory and storage, you know that this will be a device done right.
Weighing in at a massive 56 grams, or less than the weight of 4 50c coins, the Savage is light enough to fit into your pocket and you would never know it was there. Designed around the 3D Nand SSD type, means that this device is more reliable and faster than anything you might have had before and with full support for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, both of which increase load time speeds by up to 20%, it makes a perfect add-on for your gaming experience. With a 480 and 960gb models, there is plenty of space to enjoy and while no local price has been set yet, it is expected later this year, so hopefully a price is not too far off.
