Plantronics announced the RIG 100 series

Plantronics has announced a new series within the RIG family, the 100 HX and 100 HS, with the HX shown above and the HS shown below.

The RIG 100 series is set to deliver one of the most sophisticated premium chat headsets on the market, combining a robust exoskeleton design with a lightweight frame, engineered for fit and long-term comfort. Available in complementary colours of green and blue for XBox One and PlayStation 4 owners, the RIG 100 is the perfect addition to any games lounge room, putting teamspeak into the heart of the action.

“At Plantronics, we understand the importance of communication for gamers. The RIG 100 series offers the power of a full range driver, allowing ambient noise in and provides open acoustics for a bigger soundstage. This means you’ll be able to enjoy the experience of your sound system without compromising on your voice chat, never miss a shot called by your teammates again” said  Peter Petrides, Director of Gaming Products with Plantronics ANZ.

The RIG 100 series headsets are the same, one comes with a green cord and the other blue, the only difference between them. The features that both headsets come with though are as follows:
Lightweight, headset frame easily adjusts for a personal and comfortable fit.

  • Full range 40mm driver delivers game and chat audio mix with sharp detail and clarity.
  • Exoskeleton open earcup design allows in ambient noise and provides open acoustics for a bigger sound stage.
  • Memory foam headband and ear cushions reduce fatigue and let you play longer.
  • Rotating boom mic lets you wear the headset on the left or right.
  • Inline volume and mute controls let you quickly adjust volume so you can hear, or speak with, others around you.
  • The 3.5 mm analog connector is compatible with Xbox One, PlayStation 4, laptops, mobile phones and tablets.

Perhaps the best news is that the headsets will be available this October from local retailers for a price of only $49, which is insanely cheap.
